Tens of thousands of young Israelis danced through the streets of Jerusalem bearing banners and Israeli flags in celebration of the reunification of east and west Jerusalem.
Timed to coordinate with Jerusalem Day, the sea of jubilant youth expressed the hope of Israel – that the capital of Israel would continue to remain united and in Jewish hands, despite international consensus and pressure.
Birthed after the 1967 Six- Day War, this yearly march known as Rikude Degeleem, or the Dance of the Flags, celebrates the eternal value of the city of Jerusalem to the Jewish people.
